We have been lucky enough to have family & friends that have lived here for a few years and have helped us immensely with our move from Pennsylvania. If you are a fan of a very dry climate and ordering lotion in bulk, Alamogordo is for you. Also, for those who don’t like winter then Alamogordo is for you. The city is large coming in at just over 30,000 people, making anything you need and shopping readily available.

There are some cool places to visit at least once though such as the Alamogordo balloon park and white sands national monument. Near by Alamogordo though there are a few awesome caves, some you can go on self-guided tours, others by a tour guide, both are worth seeing though. Overall it is not a bad place to live, just prepare for the heat. Read Less
