r from people having to moving away for job opportunities. The side walks are a crumbling mess so watch where you step if you decide to take a walk. I follow the local newspaper online and they seem to have at least one murder per month. It is still a nice place to visit on occasion but you don't want to live there.

There are no places for youth to enjoy themselves, probably because of the class of people who show up when something nice comes along.we used to have a movie theater, but it was overrun by thugs and gang member wantabes. I moved to Lee county to escape! Wish I could move my properties too! Taxes are much more affordable in Lee county. ped and touched in forestry and farmland while sprawling out into a beacon of culture and beauty. Georgia Southwestern State University attracts national and international minds to this beautiful part of the country, and this part of the South has grown because of that diverse touch.
The best areas in Americus are around GSU and in the north side of town, where a lot of beautiful restaurants, stores, and international visitor-friendly hotels built in delightfully graceful 19th-century architectural styles.
Americus is its own city with its own attractions, but it's not too far from other major parts of Georgia. Columbus is a little over an hour away to the northwest, Savannah is a bit under 3 1/2 hours away, and Atlanta is under 2 1/2 hours away.
