Boone, NC-A Mountain Hometown 5 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) I love living in Boone. There is so much to do that you never have to be bored. From fun hiking trails to the Daniel Boone Native Gardens, we never have a shortage of things to do. The only downside that I have ever seen in Boone is the weather. It can be quite cold in the winter ...Read More and it does snow a lot! However, that doesn’t slow this small town down.

Since it is a tourist town as well as a college town, there are plenty of jobs. Hospitality jobs, as well as jobs at Appalachian State University, are plentiful. I have never had any trouble finding employment. Restaurants, golf and more are very popular here. Medical care is also great here and offers a broad variety of services.

While the winters may be cold, the summers are mild and there are many scenic sites in this area. Boone is right on the Blue Ridge Parkway and I have hiked many times to some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Read Less
