We've noticed that people are friendlier here, more polite, less stressed, and have more respect for each other. The crime here is extremel ...Read More y low due to this respect for each other and each persons property. Its quiet and peaceful too. Perfect place to live if you love nature! Deer are daily visitors along with roadrunners and other colorful birds. Although I have yet to see one, sometimes coyote can be heard in the surrounding hills. And the hills! Breathtaking views around every corner! And the lake itself is huge and beautiful to see with so many water sports to enjoy! And there's also lazy tubing down the Guatalupe river! True, there is no real night life in Canyon Lake except for the local bars but you are only thirty to sixty minutes away from ANYTHING you might want to do! Shopping, shows, nightlife, concerts, antiques, restaurants, museums, and even a water park can all be found in New Braunfels, San Antonio, San Marcos, Greune, or Austin, all just a short drive away. I truly believe that Canyon Lake is the hidden gem of Texas! Read Less
