As an individual who has lived in Coalinga, CA for most of their life I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to live unless all you are looking for is decent weather. Even what are considered to be the best areas in Coalinga are full of run-down, dilapid ...Read More
ated houses and grounds. The crime rate is enough to cause you to lose sleep. If you have children you don't want them to attend schools with dropout rates that are twice as high as the graduation rates. And you will want to live in a place where you can actually find employment that will provide you with the hours and pay you need to survive.
There are very few things near Coalinga to do for fun. They include taking the Central Coast Food Tours, visiting the RC Baker Memorial Museum (vintage printing stuff, old fire truck motor, fun fun), and seeing the Forestiere Underground Botanical Gardens. That is life here, in a nutshell. Do yourself a favor and keep looking.
