ite mountain, Mount Shasta. We're only 9 miles from Mt. Shasta City, a great resort town. We love the railroad which winds through majestic mountains along the river. The cost of housing here is far less than most of California. We like the more rustic lifestyle with wood stoves, home vegetable gardens and orchards as well as shoveling snow in the winter. It keeps us fit and healthier than living a more sedentary lifestyle. We've noticed that more and more wealth is moving into the area, but the town has kept its charm. Come visit. You'll like it.
