Quiet area near DC 4 rating By Anonymous ( Jan 29, 2019) Peaceful suburbs near DC and Northern VA. I would definitely recommend this area to a single person or couples with no children. If you do have children, you can put them in private schools if you don’t want them in the public schools. It’s a great place to live and get away ...Read More from stressful city. Read Less
Fort Washington - Views of the Potomac 3 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) Fort Washington is a good location to live because it's close to Washington, D.C. and Virginia. What I enjoyed most about living there was the short commute to work, while still enjoying the comforts of suburbia. The cost for housing is high in comparison to other areas of Maryla ...Read More nd. The best areas are those closer to the Potomac River.

The National Harbour, a waterfront development, is about 15 minutes south of Fort Washington. The development consists of shops, restaurants, a convention center, a casino, condominiums, and several hotels. The Harbour has brought a lot of excitement and opportunities to the area. There have been complaints from longtime residents though, about additional traffic and noise disrupting the community.

One of the downsides of living in Fort Washington is the community itself looking rundown, with many areas becoming eyesores. The school system is not very good and their buildings and facilities need an upgrade. There isn't much to do in the community for children or adults. You have to travel to neighboring towns for dining, shopping, and entertainment. Read Less
