Great and still growing 5 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 12, 2019) My only complaint is the Chamber of Commerce won't allow more corporate/commercial shopping. That said, things in that area are changing and we have a lot more shopping and dining to offer than before. The night life isn't all bars and clubs but there is a lot of downtown music ...Read More all through the spring and summer (and most of fall), very classy bourbon restaurants and fine dining (Check out Serafini). We also have the best water play anywhere. One large creek (the Elkhorn) if you like kayaking adventures and the Ky River if you want something mellow. People are polite and it's a quiet place with lots to do. I love this town. Read Less

Frankfort is rich with historical museums and wonderful bed and breakfasts.

Experience the walking tours that will introduce you to the area's history and dining. Enjoy many styles of restaurants. Frankfort offers Memphis pulled pork bbq, oyster po-boys, organic hamburgers, crawfish pie and the ever famous KY bourbon pie, at fine diners to the casual pizza place for the whole family to enjoy.

Kentucky calls Ruth Hanly Booe who passed away in 1972 the "Mother of Bourbon Balls." Ruth's idea of mixing candy and Bourbon Spirits secured her place in history as a world famous confectionery master. Come and visit the wonderful, unique taste at Ruth's Candy at the Rebecca Ruth Candy Cafe.

Come and enjoy shopping at the Factory Outlet Mall in nearby Georgetown, Kentucky located just 20 miles East of Frankfort. The 2010 World Equestrian Games are coming to Kentucky. The world equestrian games have never been played outside of Europe. Frankfort, Kentucky will be a part of this fantastic Equestrian history.

For those that crave the nightlife, the city of Frankfort offers a great selection from your local bar and grill to the more upscale meeting places is Mojo's Emporia. Mojo's offers an upscale atmosphere with a great dance floor. Mojo's is costly so be prepared to spend some money for a night out.

Frankfort is a very special place to come and relax and breathe in the fresh air, enjoy restaurants, shopping the outlet mall, dancing the nightlife, or just experience the quieter side and experience the breathtaking view of the Kentucky River Valley and the historical museums.
