Henniker, NH: A Small Town with Big Charm 4 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 24, 2011) I moved to Henniker, NH from Boston a little over a year ago, just long enough to experience the wonder of all four seasons. A far cry from city life, Henniker is a quaint town that keeps residents and tourists busy year-round. From skiing the slopes at Pat's Peak in the winter t ...Read More o water skiing at Lake Massasecum or nearby Sunapee Lake in the summer, there is no shortage of things to do.

When most towns are in hibernation, the winter season is really when Henniker shines. The town is abundant with snow mobile trails that transform into pristine wildlife trails in the magical spring season which is perfect for a walk with the dog or getting in shape. Be sure to bring plenty of bug spray though, because it gets infested with black flies and mosquitoes in the warmer months.

When the sun goes down, there are plenty of good restaurants in the area. In my opinion, Henniker has the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. Located in the heart of town, Que Pasa Cantina & Smokehouse makes its mark by cooking up the freshest ingredients and puts its spin on Mexican by using smoked meats. In the summer you can enjoy an excellent margarita and good eats on their outdoor patio.

I feel lucky to have found such a welcoming and bustling small town to call my home and hope to stay here for a long time to come. Read Less
