I think the best way to know whether a place would make a good place to live or visit is to talk to the people who have lived there for a while. I have been living in Minooka, Illinois for exactly 10 years this month. I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend living here as it is ...Read More
most definitely not one of the best areas in Illinois to be in. The crime rate is terrible. The people are simply not friendly or welcoming at all. Neighborhoods that used to be well-kept are now run down and shabby. Our schools are shameful, with high dropout rates and hardly anyone graduating. As for finding a job or a decent place to live, good luck. It just doesn't happen anymore.
To break up the monotony we do have a few things to do for fun. There's the Indian Ridge Farms zoo, the Outdoor Vintage Faire, the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, and my personal favorite haunt, the Horns and Halos Bar. It makes me really sad that there isn't anything to recommend Minooka as a positive place to visit or to live, but that's just how it is.
