Now I must say I lived there for a few years 10 years ago and things change in 10 years, but I have not been back to see. If you are not into hunting, fishing, boating, etc. then DO NOT MOVE HERE. Limited places to eat, the movie theater was more like a Morton Building and abso ...Read More
lutely no entertainment or shopping. I almost could overlook all of that, but the people at the time.....UGH! If u were not a local-yocal, then you best be getting on your way because they were not friendly or pleasant at all. More of a cold shoulder, rather judgmental and definitely had a vibe of 'good ol' boy city'.......so grateful to have left.

I grew up visiting the lakes around Mountain Home Arkansas as a kid. As an adult, I now enjoy living here. There's so much to do. It's family-friendly and the views are amazing! Living in Mountain Home Arkansas is vastly underrated.

n Home offers an escape from the modern world. There are plenty of lakes, rivers, hills, and hollers to explore. Other activities include clubbing, eating, and shopping. The shopping is great in Mountain Home. There are several strips to choose from. My favorite stores are TJ Maxx and a little place called Mystic Forest. Flashbacks is also a fun place to go back in time and shop. The Royal 66 club is a fun night-life destination and the best restaurant is Cooyons. Cooyons offers authentic Cajun cuisine at a good price.
The crime is good as it's steadily decreased over the past few years. The best areas in Mountain Home are the golf course or Buzzard Roost neighborhoods. Jobs are easy to find due to many retirees investing in the businesses around the area. The weather is nice and mild in the winter. The fall and spring are beautiful as well. However, the dog days of summer can be sweltering around here. The schools need improvement, but over eighty percent go on to graduate high school and twenty percent go on to receive a bachelor’s degree. A branch of Arkansas State University is also located in town. The campus sits atop a beautiful grassy hill and is built in all brick.
Mountain Home is a safe, fun, and gorgeous place to live. It's great for anyone! Families, couples, college students, and retirees should all feel the Southern Hospitality here!
