Crime stats are definitely higher 2 rating By Anonymous ( Dec 07, 2019) Palm Bay has great shopping, affordable housing, great parks, bad roads that the city wont fix, middle class community, dangerous drivers, ill conceived roads (palm bay rd and minton), great customer service, police are aggressive to normal people, the city has started to beautif ...Read More y the area. Mostly this is a decent city for middle class people, but the crime stats are off. We have had at least 1 incident per year living here, and the police dissuade you from filing a report telling you nothing will come about from the report. We were followed home from the grocery store to be robbed, people looking in our house with flashlights, people trying our front doors and we got attacked by a group of people with a knife and gun. Oh and multiple lawn ornaments stolen. I'm sure there's more. Oh but the schools are excellent, especially if your kid does sports or is in the college track. Read Less

Living in Palm Bay 2.5 rating By Genn ( Jul 13, 2015) Palm Bay is not a bad place to live its just not a great place to live. We have been here in south east PB for 13 yrs now and enjoy the convenience to state road 95 which is important because it will take you to other places that have things to do.
Palm Bay is mostly a "bedro

It does have many stores for easy to get to shopping but no downtown area like Melbourne Fl, its neighboring city has.
Most crime isn't violent, much is vandalism. If I could do it over, I would have chosen Melbourne over PB but thats just me, the cost of housing is much cheaper in PB right now.
All in all you could do worse but as far as resale value, its a tough place to sell a home Read Less

Palm Bay, FL - Truly Romantic 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 27, 2010) Palm Bay, Florida, is located on Florida's east central coast, half way between Jacksonville and Miamia. One wonderful place to go in Palm Bay is Turkey Creek Sanctuary. The "tree house section" has big oaks and orchids hanging down and a river that winds around this section with ...Read More white sand bluffs about 40 feet high around the river. It is a great place to go if you want to feel far away from the city, without actually having to travel far away from the city. Although, keep in mind, that Turkey Creek hasn't completely recovered from the hurricane damage of a couple years ago.

One negative thing about Palm Bay, Florida, is that most places, including Turkey Creek Sanctuary does not allow pets. This means that you can not walk your dog through the park or sanctuary. If you are a dog lover, this is a draw back.

While in Palm Bay, Paisano's Italian Restaurant, is a must stop. It has great authentic Italian food, the service is good, and it has a beautiful view of the Indian river. The river is lovely, especially at night. This, as well as many others, provide a truly romantic setting in Palm Bay, Florida. Read Less

      vs

      Palm Bay, FL

Palm Bay is a hidden gem in Brevard County in Central Florida, between Jacksonville and Miami. It runs on a four-mile stretch along the Indian River Lagoon on the Atlantic coast. It's rich in natural resources and a dream for adventurers who enjoy the outdoors. The Gulf coast beaches and unparalleled sunsets are among the nation's most popular, and tourists from all over the world come to visit these Gulf coast sugar-sand beaches and glistening azure waters. It also offers beautiful outdoor waterfront vistas of the coast, a unique shopping experience, charming restaurants, and the pumping clubs of South Beach with Latin influences.

Palm Bay emerges at Turkey Creek on the opening of the Indian River and streams into the Atlantic Ocean. It’s known for its numerous and various sporting themes from paintball and cyclocross, to kayaking, canoeing, and surfing, in the sparkling waters of the Turkey Creek Sanctuary. The Turkey Creek Sanctuary, with a 4,000-foot boardwalk, is a natural reserve covered with sand pines, saw palmettos, oaks, and beautiful foliage, which is part of the Environmentally Endangered Lands program.

July and August temperatures are warm, with average temperatures running at a high of 81°F and a low of 60°F. And because of the beautiful year-round weather, outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the countless activities that include golfing on over 1,000 golf courses, cycling, hiking, boating, fishing, horse-back riding, and so much more. There are also gorgeous hiking trails with an abundance of unique flora and fauna that are only available in this area of the U.S.

Florida is also known as a famous spring break destination. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or just want to unwind, Palm Bay is full of adventure, leisure, and spectacular nightlife. It’s also a short distance away from Walt Disney World, Universal, Kennedy Space Center, and Busch Gardens. So if you have a family, you will find a lot of action and things to do for all ages.

Palm Bay is also a fabulous suburban place to raise a family, with a population of over 100,000 and a cost of living that is lower than the U.S. average. The unemployment rate and crime rate is also very low, and the average commute is less than 30 minutes. Most people drive to work while the rest carpool. Less than 5% take the bus, light rail, or subway. And very few bike or walk to work.

Palm Bay is the place to be if you’re looking for excitement or peaceful, more laid-back living. But you’ll have the pleasure of the breathtaking views of the ocean and magnificent sunsets every day, on beaches that can be appreciated year-round.
