Parson's Kansas, 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 23, 2018) There is so much I love about living in Parkins. I am not a big-city type of person so Parsons offers the small-town living and charm that I love. From our quintessential Main Street to the strong historical ties we have to the western expansion of the early American railroad, Pa ...Read More rson's has so much appeal.

My favorite event in Parsons is Katy Days. It's a celebration of the first Missouri-Kansas-Texas train (also called Katy) to roll into our little Kansas town in 1870. The festival consists of 3 days of railroading activities, food, and entertainment.

One of the best areas in the town, in my opinion, is Main Street. It has been recognized as a National Great American Main Street for the revitalization efforts and historical preservation work that has been done. Main Street has become a favorite destination in Parsons for its shops and eateries. There is even an old-fashioned soda fountain.

I highly recommend Parsons as a great small community with many relaxed and fun activities in a rural setting. Read Less
