Rantoul Illinois: Excellent Hometown Feel 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 28, 2018) I experienced an outstanding time while living in Rantoul Illinois. The city is located in Champaign County. Rantoul is close to Gifford Illinois. The suburban town has mediocre public schools that include Lincoln’s Challenge Academy, it is a life skill pilot program for young ...Read More adults. The town also houses the University of Illinois Transportation and Research Engineering Laboratory which railroad testing and improvements are done. Employment and housing opportunities can be scarce in town. Weather is pretty great all year and neighborhood safety is adequate, as I have never experienced an issue.

Some of the best areas in Rantoul Illinois surround Glenwood Park. This domain has nice landscaping, beautiful lakes, and other active outdoor activities. The town is very cohesive. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The community takes pride in school athletics and games. The town comes together in harmonization on multiple events throughout the year. Rantoul gives a great sense of a neighborly hometown. It can be an excellent place to stay long-term. Read Less
