used to be better 3 rating By Anonymous ( Oct 30, 2019) there are 2 Redlands, one side has million dollar beautiful homes, the other side is the hood ( where I live ) in my 340,000 house , we have cops going all night, I have had 2 high speed chases in my neighborhood, one totaled my mom's car and hit a couple others...neighbors h ...Read More ere have lived along time.. but some have died off and children taken over house... which has brought down the neighborhood. 20 years ago, this was the place to love...5 years ago they became homeless friendly, and had a huge homeless problem... they have seem to have made alot of them disappear.. .Redlands cops are not to be messed with...City is Rebuilding the train station and residence not happy.. will make it easier for the homeless to come here and pan handle.. has a thriving college atmosphere, as University of Redlands is here. if you can afford to live on the south side of the freeway... then you will do good... but there is alot to do here in Redlands, ( Redlands bowl has free concerts all summer ) lots of place to shop and more coming.. 2 major movie theaters ...but expensive and the taxes here are going to be going through the roof as it is a 100% democrat controlled state, and heavy taxes is causing major companies to leave to states that are business friendly... so if money is not a issue and you don't have a problem with high taxes and utilities are going through the roof, I am paying almost double what i used to pay, and that has been 20 years ... Redlands is not bad.. just stay on the south side.. you are around an hour from disneyland, and alittle more for the beaches and big bear is around the same.. traffic can be pretty brutal at times... but nothing like northern Cali . crime has increased with the homeless problem... people going door to door , and stealing packages ... I don't let my son play with neighborhood children... but I am very fussy with who I want my son being influenced by... and Yes I am very conservative, BUT I tried to be as non political as possible with my review... the city officials tend to be on the politically correct/yuppy side of things... we have painted bike lanes and bike races during the summer Read Less
Gone Down Hill 2 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 26, 2019) I have lived in Redlands for over 40 years, and it has gone downhill. Homeless in all the parks with needles, poop, and trash. Traffic--it takes 20-25 minutes to go 6 miles. Plus it is very hot in the summer. I, like many Californians, can't wait to escape. ...Read More Read Less
Feel Safe and Welcome in Redlands, California 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 10, 2010) I have lived in Redlands California for the last two years. We moved here from a much bigger city and I was apprehensive about moving to a smaller town. But I absolutely love it here and am so happy we did.

...Read More everything you would find in a big city. It is nice and quiet here, Redlands crime rates are fairly low compared to other large California cities and the people are friendly. Nearly every day of the year is full of beautiful warm sunshine. I love being able to see the mountains and yet still have the nice weather of the desert.

Although most Redlands restaurants and stores are a short drive away you do have to drive over to another city to find a big box super store for grocery shopping as the local stores can be fairly expensive. Read Less
