Blossom Valley San Jose, California Neighborhood Review 3 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 06, 2014) My family and I have lived in the San Jose, California neighborhood known as "Blossom Valley" for the past nine years. This quaint neighborhood is situated in southern San Jose, California east of the "Cambrian" and northeast of the "Almaden" neighborhoods. I personally enjoy li ...Read More ving in "Blossom Valley" and raising my family but there really is not a lot to do activity wise in this neighborhood other than walk the neighborhood or go to one of the nearby parks. On the plus side, it is a nice, secure and safe locality to come home to and raise a family. There are several nearby parks provide activities such as hiking, fishing and swimming. On the down side, there is not a lot of outdoor activities in the immediate neighborhood to do. "Blossom Valley" is a standard San Jose, California suburban neighborhood which its main attribute is "family living".

There are plenty of shopping and dining options along Blossom Hill Road in my neighborhood. Restaurants in "Blossom Valley" are varied ranging from home style pizzerias, to Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, American, East Indian and Middle-East cuisine. Prices for such fare are "reasonable" to "moderate" for a family of four. Unfortunately there are very few restaurants where I live that I would classify as being fine dining. As a whole, the merchants and people living in "Blossom Valley" are pleasant but there really is not a diverse cultural "melting pot" that one would expect from California's Northern California as you see in other communities in this region.

The Westfield Oakridge Mall brings major department and specialty stores to Blossom Valley. There you can shop for clothing, sport apparel, jewelry, household items for one's basic needs. There are no stores at this mall that really stand out where one would go out of their way to shop.

A positive attribute is that "Blossom Valley" is in close proximity to many San Jose parks and surrounding communities for hiking, fishing, biking and picnicking such as Coyote Creek Trail, Vasona Park, Los Gatos Creek, Los Alamitos Creek Trail and Almaden Quicksilver Park. From this perspective, "Blossom Valley" is a good locality to reside for those who crave the great outdoors.

Traffic tends to get quite congested particularly during week day commute hours, along Blossom Hill Road as well as other major avenues. On the positive side, "Blossom Valley" is near major freeways for convenient access through the Bay Area.

There are four high schools in the "Blossom Valley" which are Oak Grove High School Gunderson High School, Pioneer High School, and Communitas Charter High School. There are several elementary schools as pre-schools as well. Read Less
