Cute, summer oriented artsy town. Beaches, fishing, boating. Attracts many Chicago visitors. Gay friendly. Expensive. Country club has nice dining. Douglass, next door to Saugatuck, is cute, too. Holland is close for serious shopping, including groceries. Winter is a different w ...Read More

Saugatuck and next door Douglas attract large numbers of tourists in summer, many from Chicago. Some are same sex couples. Saugatuck is a bit of an art colony. It is pricey. Holland is the nearest place for major shopping; only a very small grocery is available locally. Most bu ...Read More
sinesses cater to tourists. Winter is different. Few people, lots of snow. And then when the summer rolls around, it is traffic, t shirt shops, fudge shops, crowded restaurants, busy beaches, and no place to park. Real estate prices, and prices in general are high. Merchants have 10 weeks to earn a year's revenue.
