I've lived in Troy, AL all my life with no plans to ever leave. We're a historic college community with deep southern roots that predate the American Civil War. I'd best describe it as a unique country-meets-small-city.

kip from lodging and residential areas, but we also have excellent public transportation for those days where it's too hot to walk. Our downtown square boasts many one-of-a-kind, hidden gems, like the best pizza and wings ever at Sips on the Square. Our Civil War monument and museums are a must see for history buffs, especially the Pioneer Museum on Highway 231 that offers fun activities for little ones and the whole family.
Employment opportunities are always popping up, and one of our largest employers is Troy University. With plenty of shopping and restaurants, someone is always hiring. Schools here are on par with other areas of Alabama too, making Troy great for families.
