I currently live in Webster City and picked it in part for the opportunity to raise a family in a small town atmosphere where there were a lot of activities and community events that appeal to my interests.

in the center of the United States, Webster City has a desirable quality of life where family, education and community are still top values. The City is set up along the Boone River and has many natural features that make it a very attractive Iowa community.
Although it is relatively small (a little more than 8,000 people), Webster City has events, activities, and opportunities that rival much larger communities.
The community features a movie theater, two sports bars (Grid Iron Grill & Seneca Street Saloon), an urban-esque coffee shop with wireless internet (Mornin' Glory), main street shopping, a day spa, 11 parks, 2 golf courses, 7 miles of walking trails, a semi pro football team (Midwest Rampage), seasonal farmer's market, community theatre, recreation center, and much more. The community is very active with annual events/celebrations including: Crazy Day (Art Festival, Car Show & Downtown Shopping Sale), Ladies Night Out (downtown shopping event for the ladies), Boone Bash River Dash (Community picnic, celebration and Iowa Games Adventure Race), and the Hamilton County Fair. Webster City even has a branch campus of Iowa Central Community College.
Numerous great places to eat are spread out throughout the downtown, including 2nd Street Emporium, Whoop-ti-doos & La-ti-daas, the Lunchbox, Leon's, and many, many more.
Historically, Webster City is noted for having been the home of Pulizter Prize winners Mackinlay Kantor and Clark Mollenhoff. It's also the home of the "Doodlebug" Scooter (worth a google search.
