Not what it was 2.5 rating By Anonymous ( Nov 02, 2019) Well if you asked me 25 years ago I would have given my town 5+ stars. Now it's better than most towns of it's size, however there is the problem.

When Wesley Chapel was under 10,000 people no traffic lights and the commute to Tampa was easy with only two lanes on Interstate 275 ...Read More it was the best place in the world to live. Country affordable and yet near everything.

It's still nice, but for those of us who have been here 40 years the growth kind of snuck up on our busy lives. As for me my salary can't keep up. Upon retirement in 5 to 10 years I am certain that a move to a less populated area will be in the plans.

Growth and moving forward is nice but this is not the town I grew up loving. Guess I need a Delorian to go back to 1985. The sad part is all the people from my job who would never come out here because we were in nowheresville have decided to move here as well as what seems like all of their relatives from other states.

When Wesley Chapel becomes an official city if it does then it will be the end for me. Please don't let that happen for at least 10 years. Read Less

My Thoughts On Wesley Chapel, FL 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 22, 2015) I lived in Wesley Chapel, FL for about ten years. The town is a suburb of the expanding North (or New) Tampa area and straddles the county lines of Pasco and Hillsborough counties. Wesley Chapel is a community mainly of residential housing with some commercial development taking ...Read More place along the I-75 corridor which bisects the area in the north-south direction. There is no "main street" and there is little in the way of city infrastructure. The town is a town in name only being an unincorporated part of Pasco county.

The development taking place offers mostly shopping and some recreational opportunities. For example, the Saddlebrook Resort is located in the area and is famous as the home to world class golf and tennis training. Tennis superstars Jim Courier, Pete Sampras, Martina Hingis, James Blake, and currently, John Isner, Jack Sock, and Bob and Mike Bryan have used the resort's training facilities to be some of the best players in the sport.

A newly constructed 83 bed, $150 million hospital just opened recently. The hospital has a full compliment of services included a fully staffed emergency room. Plans call for an expansion to 238 beds as the hospital becomes more utilized in the community.

Movie buffs have a sixteen screen cinema to enjoy and there is a host of dining options in the area. Wesley Chapel's proximity to Tampa opens the community up to several universities including the University of South Florida, a 42,000 student part of the State University System and home to one of the top medical schools and research centers in the world and the Bulls football team. Tampa also features fine arts through its commitment to dance, theater and the traditional arts in a number of museums.

Lowry Park Zoo is consistently ranked as one of the best family zoos in the United States and is a short drive down the interest from Wesley Chapel. The Florida Aquarium is an anchor to the Channelside District which also features a number of restaurants, night clubs and dining. Read Less
